Allow us to reintroduce ourselves…
Well, it has been a whole year…and what a year it has been. To say we are grateful for the warm welcome we have received would be an understatement. We are incredibly lucky to have spent the past 365 days outfitting so many of our neighbors’ homes with window coverings, making so many friends along the way. Since we have been on the local scene for a year now, we thought we would reintroduce ourselves!
The short of it: We are Monadnock Shutter and Shade. We are a local, family-owned business, here in Keene, New Hampshire.
The longer story includes why we are different, and we’re excited to share that story with you.
First, when I say ‘local’ and ‘family-owned’, I mean it. Our owner, Matt DeGrosky, started this business a year ago, after over a decade of contract sales and installation within the industry. A true professional in the field, his knowledge and expertise are sought after by folks near and far. And, he just so happens to be my dad. Our family moved to Keene back in 2006 and we have lived, worked, and played here ever since. Now that I have my own family, my husband and I love exploring the region through the view of our one-year-old. If you stopped by the showroom over the past year, you likely met my daughter, Isabella (or at the very least, you saw her awesome play setup). I have been incredibly lucky to bring her to work with me every day of the past year. She recently started daycare, but she still checks in on the showroom on Fridays; someone has to keep Grandpa and me in line.
Because we are a father-daughter-granddaughter organization, there really aren’t any shenanigans. When you call our phone number, it’s me answering from the showroom. There is nothing automated or outsourced about our operation. Really, it’s just that simple: You call us between 10:00 and 4:00, Monday through Friday, and I will answer. Outside of those hours, you’ll hear my voice on the answering machine. There are no 1-800 numbers, no automated selections to make, no bouncing around from location-to-location to try to find the one that comes to your home.
Furthermore, because we are an independent organization, the only restriction we have is time. We can travel throughout the region, across state lines, and wherever customers need us to be (within reason, of course). We aren’t bound to prescribed territories, which allows us to be flexible with the needs of our community. While our Keene showroom acts as a central location within the Monadnock Region, we frequent Southern/Central Vermont, Western/Central Massachusetts, and as far north in New Hampshire as the Lakes Region. We have freedom of choice, which also allows us to provide products and services that matter most to you.
We have a top-notch variety of products and manufacturers that allow us to provide truly custom options for each of our customers’ homes. We are constantly scouring the industry for innovative new products in order to provide the best solutions. New England has a unique set of challenges, since our weather can range from -30° to 105°, with rain, wind, snow, hail, and more. We consistently review industry standards to ensure we have the best solutions to privacy, insulation, home efficiency, automation, and comfort.
Most importantly, we take our customers’ experience seriously. While we pride ourselves on having a good sense of humor and providing a personal touch, we are part of your most personal space…your home. We want to ensure that you are always comfortable and confident with your choice to work with us. Our expert guidance is not aimed at making a hard sale. (And yes, I just heard the collective eye roll in reading that sentence.) Every salesperson says they don’t hard-sell their customers. We mean it. Because of our expertise within the industry, we can consistently keep your best interest in mind. We are well versed in manufacturer and distributor warranties, in-house repairs, and manufacturer repairs, and we will guide you through those options first. We would rather provide you with low-to-no-cost options, should they exist, rather than upsell you on something you may not need. The experience we have with our customers isn’t transactional to us. We want you to know and trust us and we want to know you!
Overall, we are excited for our second year on Roxbury Street. We are eagerly looking forward to further nurturing our relationships with each of you, and we feel grateful to be part of the Monadnock Region. Please feel free to give us a call or drop by our showroom to chat. We can’t wait to show you what we have in store for the new year!
