Reflecting on Two Amazing Years: Meet the Family at Monadnock Shutter & Shade
As we close out another incredible year, we can’t help but reflect on how much has happened since we first opened our doors two years ago. Your support and the connections we’ve made have meant everything to us, and we’re so grateful to be part of such a welcoming and vibrant community. Let us take a moment to share some updates and reintroduce who we are!
Let’s start with the basics: Monadnock Shutter and Shade is a local, family-owned business based in Keene, New Hampshire.
But there’s so much more to the story, and we’re excited to share what makes us unique.
When we say “local” and “family-owned,” we truly live those words. Our founder, Matt DeGrosky, has been in the window covering industry for over 15 years. His extensive experience and dedication to quality have made him a trusted name across the region. He also happens to be my dad! Our family moved to Keene in 2006, and this community has been our home ever since. My husband and I are raising our daughter, Isabella, here, and it’s been such a joy to watch her grow up surrounded by this amazing community. In 2024, Isabella started going to school but has been a frequent visitor at our showroom—and if you’ve stopped by, you may have seen her little play area or caught her “lending a hand” to Grandpa and me. As we look ahead to 2025, we’re thrilled to share that our family will be growing again with the arrival of another baby girl in March!
This year also brought another exciting addition to our team: Sue, our new design consultant. Not only does Sue bring a wealth of style and expertise to our customers, but she also holds a special place in our hearts as Matt’s wife and my mom. Working alongside family members has made this journey even more meaningful.
One thing that sets us apart is our personal touch. When you call us during business hours, you’ll always speak directly with me at the showroom. There’s no automation, no call centers—just real conversations with people who care. We believe in the simplicity and warmth of doing business locally and authentically.
While we’re based in Keene, we’ve had the privilege of working with customers across New England. From the Lakes Region in New Hampshire to Southern Vermont and Central Massachusetts, we’ve traveled far and wide to bring tailored window covering solutions to our neighbors.
